[New York, NY] — Linera, a leading blockchain protocol focused on real-time applications through its innovative microchain architecture, and Space and Time (SxT), a leader in ZK and decentralized data, announced a strategic partnership aimed at integrating SxT’s ZK coprocessor in the Linera ecosystem.
The collaboration brings together Linera’s microchain model with SxT’s Proof of SQL ZK coprocessor technology, providing Linera users with trustless access to real-time, verified data across multiple blockchains. This partnership will allow Linera-based onchain applications to seamlessly integrate data from both onchain and offchain sources, including leading blockchains such as Ethereum, ZKSync, Polygon, Bitcoin, Sui, Sei and Aptos, while ensuring scalability and security.
Unlocking the Power of ZK-Proven Data Queries
Through this partnership, Linera’s ecosystem will be able to leverage SxT’s SQL-powered ZK coprocessor, enabling Linera applications to verify ZK proofs of data queries originating from SxT. This integration elegantly aligns with the high-throughput microchain-based architecture of Linera and will allow Linera applications to support an arbitrary number of proof-verification operations in parallel.
“We are excited to partner with Space and Time to bring trustless, decentralized data querying to our ecosystem,” said Mathieu Baudet, Founder and CEO of Linera. “Linera’s ability to run expensive computations—such as proof verification—in parallel microchains complements Space and Time’s ZK-coprocessor technology, enabling onchain applications to query external data sources seamlessly while ensuring data integrity and security.”
ZK-Airdrop: A Proof-of-Concept Application
To showcase the potential of this collaboration, Linera and SxT have developed a proof-of-concept application called ZK-Airdrop. The ZK-Airdrop application allows arbitrary tokens to be distributed to users who can provide ZK-proven evidence of holding specific testnet currencies, such as ETH, on a certain date and time. This innovative approach not only showcases the capabilities of both technologies but also opens the door for further use cases in decentralized finance (DeFi), multichain games, and other sectors.
“We’re thrilled to enable the Linera ecosystem to build expressive onchain applications with Space and Time’s ZK coprocessor, and we’re excited to see what innovation comes out of the integration. The ZK-Airdrop proof-of-concept illustrates how powerful trustless data querying can be when combined with Linera’s microchain scalability,” said Stephen Hilton, Head of Solutions at Space and Time. “This is just the beginning of what’s possible when blockchain data can be queried and verified securely at scale.”
A New Era for Web3 Development
The Linera and Space and Time partnership marks a significant step toward bringing Web2-level scalability and efficiency to Web3 applications. By enabling onchain applications to query data from multiple blockchains in a decentralized and trustless manner, the collaboration empowers developers to build more robust, data-driven applications without sacrificing security or performance.
About Linera:
Linera is the first L1 blockchain infrastructure for real-time applications. Linera was founded with the vision to empower users with globally accessible, decentralized technology that supports seamless and secure onchain interactions, no matter where they are in the world. Its unique architecture lets users interact directly with small chains of blocks, called “microchains”. This allows applications to read and write onchain data with strong guarantees of performance and security, for any number of active users. Founder and CEO, Mathieu Baudet, holds a PhD in cryptographic protocols, was an early research engineer on the Meta Libra/Novi project and is a coauthor of the FastPay protocol.
